Since I Recently Added 80,000+ Mp3's To The System The System Was Running Low On Storage. So Today I Ordered A New Drive Array, This Should Bring The Storage Of The Server Up To 7.5 Terabytes. (It Should Be Here Tomorrow).

I Updating A Subject On The FAQ Page "The Spoken Word" With A Side By Side Visual Comparison Of A Clip From A Old Time Radio Show, Then It Was Converted By The Same Encoder To Four(4) MP3 Quality Settings 160Kbps, 128Kbps, 96Kbps And 32Kbps
You Will See Visually In This Short Clip There Is Virtually No Difference In The Wave Form Of All The MP3 Files. So To Listen To A Old Time Radio Show In 32Kbps You Can Not Tell The Difference Between Them.
For A Serous Collector That Obtained Any Format Of Audio Directly From Source Would Never Use The MP3 Format. MP3 Is Not A Lossless Audio Format Where Flac Or Ape Audio Formats Are, And Would Be The Best Choice. With Quality Comes A Price, And That Is File Size Using More Disk Space And Vastly Extended Download Times With No Real Increase In Quality.
22 July, 2006
The Web Site Now Has 213,749 Downloadable Files.
I Added A Page To Download Some Media Players
06 July, 2006
Added Subject: Encoding Files And The "Spoken Word" To The FAQ
Someone Asked About Advertising And How Much I Spend. After All Expenses Are Paid (T1 Internet Connection $399 A Month). $74 For Electricity, Hardware Upgrades Etc... What Is Left Over Is Spent In Advertising. The More Users I Have The More I Can Spend On The Site. As I Said Before I Do Not Make Money Off Of This Site It Is Merely For Fun For Both Me And For My Users.
A Few Months Ago I Emptied The Hardware Piggy Bank And Spent $3,000+ On Two New 2 Terabyte Hard Drives. One Is Used As The System Drive And The Other Is A Backup Of The System Drive With All The Radio Shows.
If You Remember A Few Months Ago I had A larger List Of Other Site Links, But Since They Did Not Have A Links Page Or They Would Not Place My Link On There Pages (Maybe Because I Have A Huge Collection Of Radio Show Files). I Decided Why Should I Keep Them On My Listing. If You Happen To Be A Operator Of A Old Time Radio Or "Golden Age Of Radio" Site And Have A Links Page And Wish To be Placed On My List Just Let Me Know. I Would Like To Exchange Links With You.
